Brandonfish was that you in the.green sled and eagles beanie? I had the two tip-ups and black sled. Glad you did well! Had a good tuesday evening, prob close to 15fish in the last hour or so, crappies, gills, and perch all mixed. Couple keeper size but all went back. Was nice to put some fish on the ice. Left around 1130 today, late for the early bite, early for the late bite, still got some and got to play capture the flag.

Catching lots of fish but only about 1 in 8 are keepers. Fishing after work and on the ice from 3:3; until dark. With the cold snap this weekend I may try a few mornings.

Our legal limit is 50. I think taking them out of the lake is a good thing. It allows the ones that are left to grow bigger. Just my opinion

Jigger, I'm not saying your wrong, but just look at Struble. It seems to me most people keep there and Struble does not turn out too many big crappies. However, it seems ever time a new study comes out which says small limits = bigger fish, another comes out which contradicts it. I just think like this: every fish I keep is one less for someone else to catch and one less to make more fish. 4-6 decent panfish is plenty for a single person for a single meal. Throw some chips on the side & something green too. Exercise your rights at your will, but I ask you to be considerate. Or, at very least, don't be gluttonous.

maybe hes having more than one for dinner cmack. iv kept that many when I wanted to have a fish fry or a decent bag of fish in the freezer.its not every day that the fish cooperate like that ,40-50 fish days happen, but there not the rule as much as the exception. theres people up there keeping everything no matter what size that have never heard of gordons message board,,jiggers not one of them. keep im mind people have been taking fish thru the ice in good numbers there for years and years and years and the fish are still there in good numbers as far as I can tell. if the PFBC dosent want some fish taken out every year,,why do they set the limit at 50?. spend a bunch of money on gear, fuel, fishing license, etc,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,finally have a good day,,post a report and get called a glutton for your trouble. that sounds about right theses days,,,,,,,way to get um jigger, maybe see ya tue,,man that wind is hawkin.

The limit is 50, but folks have to realize that set limit includes all state waters with exception to the special regs areas. A 500 or 2000 acre lake can stand a lot more pressure and limits of fish taken than a 70 or 80 acre lake like Struble. Sure taking out a lot of small fish will allow the big ones to grow, but does anyone think Struble is a trophy fish lake? I think crappie require a minimum of about a 50 acre lake to reproduce. I'd rate Struble more as a put and take lake. I think the Fish Comm or Chester cty, whoever made the regs, were right to make Chambers lake special regs for panfish, plus not allow ice fishing. The lakes are too small for the pressure and not suitable for fish reproduction to sustain a lot of pressure.

Your right panfishin, I have met my match, this wind is a little too raw for me today. I will attempt to get out Monday because of the threat of afternoon snow might get the bite going. I anxiously await the return of my Marcum, no mail on Monday,Grrrr! Haven't fished since Thursday and I'm getting antsy! For the record, I have not problem keeping 50 fish, those days are far and few between and everyone is put to good use and that's all the more I'll be commenting on that topic, this forum better used for providing info for one another and sharing techniques. Fish on!

folks also need to realize that because they read a fishing report of 1 person having a 42 fish day that they assume everyone on the ice has a 40-50 fish day every time they go out,,,it just aint so. its true, ice fishermen are taking some fish,,but the actual number of fish being taken is unknown,,, I don't think its as high as everyone thinks,,but maybe im wrong who knows. seemed like there were plenty of fish around when I fished up there last,,,that was a few weeks ago as many of the ice gang have migrated to marsh creek,,im sure people are still fishing struble,,but not like they were,so fishing pressure should be lower there.
