I went to struble to fish for carp, dont usually carp fish but a couple buddies were going & it sounded like fun. when I got there I noticed a few mexicans over by the launch area & noticed one had a stringer full of what appeared to be pan fish. When they walked past I noticed that there was a few perch & a bunch of very small (under 7") lm bass on his stringer, this sent my blood boiling! I asked him what he had there & he quickly replied "me dont know, me dont care", which further pissed me off! so I walked over to the sign by the launch to look for the local authorities phone number, but didnt find it. I tried to call the Fish & boat commission, but no answer. If anyone on here knows the phone number to the proper person to call when I see this again, please post it up so I can put it in my phone, if you would prefer to message it to me thats fine also. I have heard alot of people talk about fishing pressure & that the fishing is not that good this year at alot of spots, this is the primary reason!!!! The number of people fishing with no morals and lack of respect for nature & the laws has skyrocketed in the past couple years & its taking its toll on our fisheries!!! Most of theese people are illegally here so why should the abide by our laws, they didnt abide by them to get here in the first place. I urge everyone who fishes to call the authorities when they see this going on, maybee it will make them stop poaching if they have to pay out everytime they get caught!!!

I hear ya. I have also tried but they can't speak english nor do they have licenses. I spoke with officers this year, and right there were you were standing too, and they are after these guys. some have been caught but don't show up to court but if caught again...well maybe the officer was just talking tough. Its a problem for sure. they caught a bucket brigade at chambers with 40 fish, a panfish enhancement lake, all undersize fish, no frigging license of course. these scum worked for Verizon, so there you see the bigger problem. people can't get our kids to work for that cheap and yet i've seen payrolls for $28 an hour for these people (no benefits) then they just go to the emergency ward if need be. they probably don't even know or understand what they are making but minimum wage with 20 people in the house is just fine. the government allows it. there is a much bigger problem than fishing. I will get a number to call next time and post it. how was the carp fishing?

I have my the rangers number programed into me cell phone to report acts just like you witnessed. ( the local office where I live) If I was there I would of had a few choice words with them.
Its seems like every year the appearences of park rangers diminish, especially at the streams where I fish mostly. I have not saw one park ranger this year since opening day of trout season. You would think there would be because Evansburg is a state park. It seems like they just don't care anymore. I see them more at Marsh Creek and the other recreational lakes. Not to get totally off-topic here.
As Fishncool said, how was the carp fishing? Those are some fun fish to catch.

A friend of mine was fishing there during the spawn and came back to the ramp to find hispanic guys in the water, on the beds with rakes...yes...steel rakes. He called the Commission and an officer did show, but the hispanics all beat feet when he made the phone call. Talk about disgusting! Why is it that I can go through a safety check two days in a row by the same officer at a place like Speedwell Forge and pass with no problems while these morons are out there breaking laws left and right?

we got the skunk due to only being able to fish a section that was less then desirable, as the choice areas having been over run with those poaching mexicans. This has to stop!!!

All, Let's not get it twisted here to think that only illegal Mexicans are breaking our fishing and gaming laws. I have seen and said a few words to White, Black, Asian, & Mexican people who were breaking the rules. What I think we need to do is continue to pressure people when we see these problems and make enough noise to fish & game so that the officers visit our beloved fishing areas more often.

Agreed its not just the mexicans breaking the laws, but 90% of the problems I personally witness, with my own eyes, are from hispanic males with no regaurd for the law . I believe its due to the outragous number of illegal mexicans up here now that is really hurting & pressuring our fisheries, I mean what the heck, they were in the lake with a rake during a spawn! illegals or not, at most every fishery I have been to that I see people keeping buckets of undersized fish, littering (usually hand lines lying on the banks of the lakes with hooks still attached & all the wrappers from what they used or ate/drank that day) & keeping out of season fish, its the same above said peoples. When said something to or asked a question about a questionable fish or trash lying on the ground, they just ignore you & act like they dont understand what you are saying, then run off to a different spot. I try to call the fish & boat commision so the can deal with them, but no one answers on the weekends. If they are illegally here & get caught poaching, I hope they get deported & fined for every dime they made while up here ! I really believe the govt. needs to hire many more rangers & conservation officers & make sure they patrol more areas, more often! Yes I do often clean up after litterbugs when I can, but it is getting old as the problem is getting increasingly worse ! I am not blaming it all on mexicans as the other 10% that I have seen are white trash (yes I said white trash, if someone is acting this way it makes them trash, no matter what color,race,etc..)that do the same things, its just the number of illegal mexicans in this area has increased rediculously in the past 2-3 years & the fishing has taken a turn for the worst along the same time period . I am in no way on here to start any trouble, fights or any other problems with anyone about race or anything else, I am calling it how I am seeing it! what really set me off was on Sunday before I went to struble, I was sitting at a local bar getting wings (they have them on special every sunday ) and there was an older mexican fellow sitting there & we struck up a conversation as he saw my fishing liscence. We talked for about a half an hour before He said , "man you dont need that, I bought one when I moved up here 5 years ago & I just keep using the same one, no one ever says anything to me", then he continued to tell me how he goes to marsh creek & other local spots & fills his buckett up with whatever he catches & how its such good eatin . I have personally witnessed this (not him, but others) at marsh creek, reapeatedly, and this is a major reason in the fishing getting worse, then I go to struble & witness it going on right then & there, IT NEEDS TO STOP NOW if we want any children to be able to enjoy our sport or if we want to continue enjoying it ourselves! thats just my 2 cents Dave E

I was calling the main office, its the only number I could find: 717-705-7800. One of the main reasons behind this thread was to try to get a number that actually reaches someone who can do something about this when it is happening Please post up any phone numbers that any of you may have that would help in a situation like this, please !

Poaching has become a very big problem every where not just around here, it's all races and their not all illegal aliens, lets make sure this doesn't become about race but about anybody (no matter what their race is) who doesn't abide by the laws. BigDaveE I sent you a PM

What about calling the local police, I don't know if that is an option or not, I'll see if I can find out and post info or maybe somebody who reads this might know.

Just to clarify on my post...I'm not just pointing fingers at Mexicans either. It just happened to be the group that was there that day with the rake. I've seen all sorts of illegal activity from all races at numerous area lakes in Lebanon, Lancaster, Chester, Berks and other surrounding counties. I agree with the rest of the board that something (especially at Struble) needs to be done.

I didn't mean for my post to sound like I was pointing a finger at anybody particular and I wasn't. This thread is fine so far, just wanted to make sure it didn't go in the wrong direction that's all. A lot of people come from cultures where a fish is nothing more than food, then they come to our country, some of them even buy a license but when they go fishing they refuse to throw anything back no matter weather they are in season or legal size and they don't care how many they have in their buckets. Then we have the people who are from this country who are just as bad, they think they have to take every thing that they catch home. Stradic, what were they trying to do with the rakes?

i assume they were trying to stab the fish off the beds with the rakes ? that is pretty bad. not something you would want to see with the wife and kids on a quiet, peaceful Chester County day. maybe they can help crappieman thin out those panfish at marsh or the carp at struble. why is it you never see them carp fishing? oh I forgot you can't dig up corn or find it under a rock. i think i will bring corn next time and if i see hispanics i will give them corn and hope they don't have corn and 7"bass for dinner

They go into spawning fish beds with rakes & try to rake/stab the bedding fish up & take them home! No sport, no skill, just harvesting them like vegitables or fruit or something & that destroys the eco system in a lake, terrible!
