Woooow snakeheads that high? So they can tolerate brackish water? I'm guessing they swam right up Chesapeake right?

They are known to travel during high water events when there is more "fresh water" in the bay. If you look under the USF&W site under invasive species there is a map showing all the locations they've been reported. They've spread quite a bit since they were first found back in the 90's.

If you guys have never caught a snakehead, I think you should go out and give it a go! I hate to say it to get hammered, but I wouldn't mind them being in my waters. I go over to NJ to fish for them and they are the best fighting fresh water fish I've ever caught. I got a 12.1lber last week on a 2" mouse lure. It was amazing. They are delicious as well!

I do the same thing, right near the mantua creek just in all the gross trashy looking backwater. They absolutely destroy topwater baits. Although I wouldnt go as far as to say I wish they had them in lakes aroun me, I am glad there are some within an hour that I can go fish for because they are exciting and fun to catch!
