Has anyone caught rock bass (red eye) out of Coatesville reservoir? Someone was telling me there was some in there. I have never caught one South of Allentown, I didn't think they made it this far south.

I've never been to the reservoir. What's the best place to park for wade access?

There is a road that runs along the water there is plenty of space to pull off pretty much ANYWHERE on the road if you want to wade on the Woodside either park behind the damn or near the bridge on the other end only place YOU CAN'T park is on the other side of the road on country club property

There is a fence that prevents you from walking on the damn but yes you can stand right nxt to the fence and fish np there is a main trail that goes all the way through but not as many people fish the woods in the summer so trails from main trail to the water not as easy to find unless you know exactly where they are but I will say all the bass I heard of were not caught in the woods but I would bet there is many uneducated bass in the woods

I would suggest any new fisherman who really wants to fish the woods take a machete or someone local who knows the trails and even then might need 1

In terms of Octoraro white perch, water sometimes gets pumped into lakes in times when there is little rain. The one small creek there is actually a pipe further up, and they pump it when there are minor droughts. From what I heard at Neary's they pump water in from the creek, which eventually connects to the Susquehanna, which has white perch. According to the guy working at Jims bait when I talked to him, thats where the white perch came from. Scary thought considering that a confirmed report of a snakehead just came in from the lower end of the Octoraro Creek down towards the Susquehanna
