well done hawgcatcher, those perch are my favorite eating.
A little tip, if your going to go out for the first time in a while make sure your blades are tip top sharp. Even so it is going to kick your but drilling through this thick ice.

Fished up from Chalfont area yesterday from around 1030 till 3. That snow was a real pain without a tent over me. Perch were active. Jigged up two 13 in bass which made things fun. Left with a handful of larger perch, one solo crappie, and a couple big gills. Only saw two guys further down off Chalfont. Guess the snow ran most people home

Had a real slow day off chalfant yesterday. Fished from 7:30 till 2. I caught a couple dinks and my buddy took 4 crappie with the biggest 12 inches. The fish seemed to be bigger yesterday but getting them to bite was very difficult. Just one of those tough days. It was nice meet you iceman. Always good to meet new people to enjoy some fishing with.

Fished today from 8 AM- 2 PM. Crappies were biting super lite, could hardly notice any action on the spring bobber, missed more then I caught, took 11 home and one nice perch. Weather was balmy for a change. Seen people walking all over the ice including the new ice that formed in the middle. Back at it tomorrow!

Was out at the crack of dawn on saturday....should have slept in...ha ha!! Bite was slow to non-exsitent at chalfont rd. Marked plenty of fish but the ones I caught were small except for one nice perch. Some friends joined and since the fishing was slow we went over to struble and the bite was pretty good. Almost all keeper crappie with a few little guys mixed in. Glad things worked out since it was the first time ice fishing for my friend and his son.

grabbing some glow jigs and gonna give some night jigging a try tonight. if anybody is around. Conditions still about the same? I did that last night from about 8-11. Didn't catch much, a few small gills. First time i ever tried, didmt have higj expectations more of an experent than anything else. So here is what i learned. The peace and quiet factor is great. You will hear and and sometimes feel every crack and pop traveling through the ice. the close ones will get your attention, a little freaky but ice is plenty safe. If that stuff bothers you stay home you won't like it. Marked fish, similar to day time but very hard to get bit. I had glow jigs and wax worms but think small minnows or something that rattles may have helped. Fish were anywhere from just off bottom to 15 feet off the bottom. I didnt ise a lantern or drop lights in the water. I have seen debates on the pros cons of light but think back to when I was drinking under age and the cops came shining lights. I ran, suspect fish may run too. Who knows. Would I do it again? I would, for the challenge of figuring it out. Once you can dial in a few techniques that work you have the lake to yourself.

Fished today from 6 AM - Noon, kept 14 crappies, bite was consistant until the sun broke thru the clouds, fish were hugging the bottom and only rising one foot or less, looks like a warm up coming next week, that will be a nice treat.

How is the ice on the main lake? Last weekend I saw people ice skating on it, I thought that was sketchy at best. Just wondering if it is fishable or not.
