im thinking fri or next Monday,,,trying to stay away on the weekend if I can. jigger I got there at 10 and they were biting good, then it kinda died, then they would come on again,,,like they were coming in cycles, the maching would be blank for a while, then it would be lit up like a tree and it would be on again.

Panfish I noticed that too before it got close to sundown. Funny, if there were multiple fish on my flasher at once you were guaranteed a bite. One fish, not so much. Clearly they were competing for it. But like I said Just before sundown it was game on. didn't need to tip my jig either. I been using one lure all winter, caught just about every fish on it. After this season is over im going to get it bronzed...lol

Went out to the lake today with hopes of getting on the ice since there were a handful of guys out in the middle of the lake of the lyndell side, but the ice was a bit too thin around the edges for me to get on. Drove over to park side to try... a little better but still thin around the edges.
Watched two guys come off the lake and they made a mad dash to land and barely made it. The one guy had waders on so it didn't matter to him. They did say the ice was still a good 6" thick out in the middle. Edges should freeze up good by the weekend.
Panfishin - you might want to take a pair of hip boots just to get out on the ice. Once you are out there you will be good to go!!

yeah,it was thin on the edge the other day and I did the mad dash and broke thru once,,but my muck boots were high enough to keep me dry. but that is a good idea about the hip boots,,,ill throw them in the truck. another cold night tonight might thicken some of that ice I hope.

I was one of the mad dashers coming off the ice Thursday. I broke thru going out, from the shoreline to about 8 feet out is shaky then it's solid. Ice is still 6 inches thick. Wish I wore my cleats, ice is a little slick. Also broke thru coming in, got a little wet. Anyone have a 10 foot plank?

Bite was good yesterday, lot of crappies, had a dozen keepers. Some perch too. Best bite for me was around 1 PM until I left at 3 PM. I'll be back out today, hopefully shore ice stiffened up!

Panfish, you don't need to be real deep at struble. 5-10 will hold fish. I found that the dinks hang in the deeper water at struble.
