the Marcum is user friendly,,i usually only adjust sensitivity and range and that's about it. im sure they all work,,i guess its just a matter of getting used to fishing with whatever sonar you use... sometimes ill move the transducer around to get a better reading,,,make sure the ice hole is clean at the bottom,, no ice protruding out in front of the transducer. it must have an unobstructed view to the bottom.

Again, the weather forecasters got it wrong! Be back on the ice soon! I am sold completely on my Marcum, it has changed the game for me! I can't believe I went all these years without one.Best moment on the ice Sunday was the burger! fishing was pretty good too!

Sat and Sun we finally found some crappies. They were on some wood in about 16 FOW. Between them and a few nice keeper perch we were able to put some in the freezer. They really liked the northland Bro's bloodworm. Check it out. I think they may even work in the spring and summer.

Was out today from 12-4pm. Second time out with my new flasher. What a difference when you get over the learning curve on how to dial it in. Ended up with 5 keeper crappie, 5 perch and sunnie in 30ft of water. Hope to get a few more days on the ice.

I was there yesterday and it was slow- about 20 small gills, and 1 perch. Has anybody fished for crappies at night? I'm thinking of giving that a shot friday evening. Any tips on locations, or targeted depths? I was thinking the cove down from the swimming pool. Thanks for the help- Guy

I did the night trip, slow bite until we shut off the hydroglow light then the bite was on, briefly. It's a whole other world out there after dark. Fished today ( Thursday) took home about 20 crappie and a few chunky perch. Bite was slow and came in spurts. Back out tommorrow.......

i forgot to mention that I saw 4 coyotes at dusk on Wednesday. I was in the cove that goes back to the little conastoga bridge. It was one of the coolest things I've seen in the park. Going to fish from 6:00 to who knows tonight. I'm looking for a few crappie for the pan.
