I knew as soon as I hit the shoreline I forgot my Waxies and there was no way I was going to walk back out in that slush to get them. I appreciate you picking them up for me. Just as I figured when I got home UPS came a callin with my new Marcum! I am anxious to use it, lets hope the ice makes it thru this upcoming warm spell and rain.

I can't resist, heading out around 8 AM to Marsh Creek. This might be the last time and I have to try the Marcum at least once this season! Anyone else going out?

I was at Marsh Creek today(Tuesday) trying out the new Marcum. I fished from 9 AM - 3 PM. Around Noon I decided to move into shallower water, that was the right move! The barometer dropped as the sky clouded over and the bite was on! Had 18 keeper crappie and 6 keeper perch. I caught them all from the same hole and in 26 feet of water. I love my Marcum! Panfish, you were right, I know I wouldn't of done that good without it. The walk out wasn't too bad but coming in it was really sloppy the last 100 yards. Bait of choice: Teardrop jig tipped off with Gulp Waxies.

Way to go iceman!! Glad you got out with your new toy before the ice is unsafe. I just bought a flasher this year too.....what a world of difference from fishing blind all these years.
I think your right panfishin!! might be time to head north. Are you thinking Antietam, Ontalaunee or the poconos area?

I never thought to try gulp waxworks. I've used gulp minnows in the summer jigging for crappie and they worked just as good as live ones.

Anyone attempting to go out at MC since the rain came? Wondering what the ice condition is?

All a fishing pole was turned into the Marsh Creek Office, If you can describe it you can come pick it up.
Good luck and stay safe out there as the ice starts to thaw.

Fished from Noon until 3:30 PM today (Thursday) at Marsh Creek. The walk out wasn't so bad but the walk in was super slushy with about 4 inches of water sitting between the snow and ice. Ice is still around 10 inches altho the top 3 inches is turning white (thawing) and if we don't get another cold snap I suspect the ice is shortlived. I caught alot of perch and 2 crappie. I was definitely under dressed and I paid for it!
