Hello, I'll get one shot to spend a day on MC ice fishing. I'm only asking to be pointed in the right direction as I'm new to the area. I'm looking for panfish. Any info is a help as I only know the park office lot. Just general info like this coveor main lake. I can get everything else needed at the Gordons. Thank you. Guy

Got windwhipped today at Marsh Creek, first is was a white out followed by howling winds, still managed to catch our share of Crappies. A BIG thanks to panfish for coming thru in a crunch! Looks like the ice will be sticking around for awhile. Back out tomorrow!

Looking for some help. I am new to ice fishing this year and have been fishing the deep water of the main lake on MC the last couple weeks and I am interested in finding some shallow water to have more of a chance at bass and maybe even a musky.if anyone has any advice feel free to PM me. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Fished today ( Thursday) from 7:30 AM - 2:00 PM, calm morning, 6 degrees & sunny, slow bite. Around 11:30 AM the wind picked up, same as the day before, & it clouded over. I was just about to pack it in & the bite turned on big time until I left, wind got the best of me, it was unbearable! Same spot Panfish, 32 feet of water.

Panfish, how did you guys make out? Right after you guys left me to go prospecting, I switched over to a tiny vertical jig and the bite picked up briefly. Marked lots of fish but they were not in the mood. How did the 2 Marcums get along?

same thing for us,,,,slow pick, lots of marks but few chasers. some screen clutter from the other machine but the noise button cleaned it up pretty good. bobs up there now, waiting for his report. going tomorrow and see if they bite before this storm.

Fished Carpenters cove early this afternoon without a bite. Just couldn't find the fish there. Moved to shallower water, about 28-30 feet and found some nice size crappie to go along with a hand full of small perch. The bite really picked up around 4 until I left at 5:30. Met a man named Bob who showed me his new marcum, definitely should have looked into those before picking up a vexilar.

bob bought his Marcum after fishing with mine,,,they are nice units that's for sure,,another plus is that they have no moving parts to break or wear out,,,its all digital,,,me and bob will be out there in the am. I thought vexalar made a good machine, dont you like yours bassbum?

It is a nice machine for sure. Still trying to get the hang of using it. The marcum seemed to be a little more user friendly i guess you could say. Another trip out with the vexalar should help, it was my first time using it or any flasher. Think it may have been set to the wrong depth. Still caught more fish with it then without it. Hope to get back on the ice next weekend after this rain/snow mess
