Fished today from 6 AM - 3 PM. Pretty much the whole gang was out, I had a decent biting going and bagged my share of crappie. We had snow, wind, sleet and rain all in that order luckily the wind did die out. I don't think the upcoming warm up will affect the ice, should cool down later in the week. Back out tommorrow.

Caught a good mixed bag today. Took one of my buddies on his first hard water trip today, I'm sure glad the fish cooperated. Took him a little while to get through the thick ice, but it was fun to watch.

My buddies and I Fished Saturday from @ 8 to 2 slow day. Fished deeper water but had no fish. What depths are you guys finding the fish at lately? Baits or jigs? Any tips for new ice angler? Hope to maybe get out 1 more time this week. BTW we were at CC area.

good bite in the morning ,then it was slow for me after that, out in 40ft in the middle, I was hoping they would bite in the nasty weather so I put up the shelter and fished till 5 but it was slow,,many times they bite in the slop, but not yesterday for me anyway, the last 2 sunny/mild days before that were very good,,,cant ever figure those crazy fish out. had several ice walkers come check us out, but many beat a hasty retreat after hearing the everyday cracks and groans of the ice, iceman seen one guy actually take off running to escape from the collapsing ice pak,lol

Gaffmaster, I have been finding fish in 27-35 fow, same depth as CC. Using small jigs tipped w/spikes but the real key has been using a fishfinder. The crappie bite has been very suttle, hardly noticing any movement on the springbobber, the FF gives me an indication when fish are closing in on my jig and a bite is about to happen. Fishing live minnows has been working also.

maybe ill try later today,,,rest of the week looks like a mess,,im not fishing in the rain and slop again,,didn't pay off the last 2 times so that's enough of that, snow is one thing,,freezing rain is nasty,, I think the ice is about to get very sloppy.

fished yesterday with the gang from about 730 till about 4 1st half was good, everyone had a nice batch of fish by noon or so,,,then it was a slow pick after that,,the boys did pull 3 very nice white perch thru the ice in the afternoon,,,took a break and went to carmines pizza for lunch just up the street, that was a nice little warmup/food break. then it was snow/sleet and then freezing rain and that was enough for me at about 330 or 4. looks messy till fri or so,,,the pizza shop said they will deliver to the lake,,, just fyi

I was wondering if they would deliver to the lake. White perch? Wait, I recall GSS saying there were no white perch in MC. I saw a guy a few years ago pull one out of the park cove that Im pretty sure would have been a contender for a state record. GSS said it wasn't a white perch.

Iceman sounds like a good morning! How thick was the ice? I took a road trip to Mauch chunk last weekend for a change of scenery and there was 19 inches.. only person with a hand auger. A lot of work for a couple fish.

Where I'm fishing the ice is about 7 " . Chalfont is more than twice that. Frigid temps tomorrow and Friday night will tighten it back up, when I walked off this evening it was really soupy. Evening bite was a good as the morning bite, so I didn't mind being sopping wet.

good afternoon yesterday in the rain, nice batch of perch/crappie,,had to wait for a little while for them to show up but they did. it got very foggy and I was the last to leave and it was just about dark. made a mental note of what direction the park office was, then folded up the hut and walked off in the wrong direction,,i could have sworn I was walking in the right direction but I was not,, phone getting low,,gps wont lock in,,called iceman,he said he would come back,,just then navionics locks in,,,,i had walked to where milford rd is,,,i was parked at park rd,,call iceman and tell him im ok and used the navigator to get back with no problem,,,,i should have left when everyone else did but I had a full machine and was catching fish and not really paying attention to visability,,,that was the thickest pea soup iv seen in a while,,,,navionics is a nice app,,,,got me home in zero visability.

Fog is scary no doubt. Glad my FF has GPS...Whats even more scary is being in a boat in open water when you can hear other boats running around.
