Drove by Marsh Creek today ( Saturday) and saw 2 guys out on the ice. They got on from Chalfont Road and there is still plenty of open water. It little too risky for my liking.

You always have to be more than careful but I have fished on lakes with open water that still have very safe ice.

I will most likely be out there early Saturday. Not sure which area but probably off of chalfont rd, maybe carpenters. Ill have to see which looks better. I haven't checked the ice out there at all this season. Just crossed over connestoga rd bridge on my way to struble last week and saw it was frozen as far as i could see.

I pulled out a few nice crappie. Perch were all small. Carpenters cove has about 6" of ice at the far end and it gets thicker as you go back. I don’t think the warm up will affect the ice in the coves that much. I saw a guy fishing down towards Chalfont from the bridge yesterday.

Checked out Marsh Sat...Fished from 8 AM to almost 4pm... Steady pick of fish but had to weed through the small gills and perch all day and lots of them. Jigged up three bass, a handful of crappies, and numerous perch and gills. Left with about 20 keepers(few of each). Good to get out.

Was that you on the long cove on the park side? I drove by around noon and saw only 1 guy out there fishing and a few people skating. Looked like a long walk to get to any good ice

No that wasn't me. I was on the creek arm between the big rock and the bridge.

I did see you as i drove over the Conestoga rd bridge. I was unsure if chalfront rd was open and how the ice was in that area. I should have stopped to check it out before heading back to struble. It would be nice to drill some holes at marsh for the first time this year again.

How thick is the ice between the creek arm and the rock? I really would like to hit MC next week. Is the gate open on Calfont Rd.? Where's the best spot to park on Chalfont to minimize the distance to the lake while hauling all the gear? Last week I parked at the locked gate and dragged everything across that open field, rough going to the sled.
