I took my buddy to Green Lane today to do some fishing. I bought him a dozen worms and let him go at it with the gills since he hasn't done much fishing while I had some corn to fish for Carp. Overall, I caught 1 carp, lost 3, and 1 snapped my line. I would of had the 3 I lost but I forgot my net! They were at the shore but I couldn't pick them up. I let my buddy real one carp in and I think he's "hooked" into fishing. Of course I can pick up the smallest carp...Ha ha By the way, I was drinking Fruit Punch which explains the red lips. Ha ha

After my Bio exam today, another one of my buddies wanted to go carp fishing so we went down to this canal off of Egypt Road. ( I think it's Egypt at least ) We were using corn and my rod wasn't even out there 2 minutes and I got a hit. He took me for a ride down the canal for about 10-15 minutes. I lost him. That carp must of been the KING OF THE CANAL.. I definatly am going to hit that spot up again because he must of been a monster.

sounds like you need some heavier tackle and some braid!

Yes I do. I had 6lb test on and apparently that wasn't heavy enough. All along the canal was perfect for them because of overhanging trees and bushes and if you could get a good flip under them they seemed to be hanging in there. However there was a lot of brush in the water so it made things more difficult because they would head straight for it. Do you know if circle hooks work better when carp fishing or do use just regular bait hooks? A few guys said they work better so I thought I would give them a try.

I've never been to Green Lane. Approx. location of the lake? Can you launch a boat?

It's off Rt 29 in Green Lane. There is special regulations where you can't launch your own boat, you have to rent one of theirs for a few bucks an hour. I usually just fish from shore anyway for carp when I'm there and at night I'll go for some Crappies. Brad knows the area better then me since he use to live down the street from it.
