my first trip ever to Galena...... was very empty this time of year as most waterways are getting....... but i was suprised at the amount of surface activity for an early am excursion. Fished from 8 to 10 am caught one white perch on a jerk bait and had a few other hit and misses....and one 10 inch large mouth on a single blade spinner....... i had really gone to Galena hoping to hook a few catfish or carp... had one rod out with livers and later on with some corn for carp.. but neither of those produced maybe that was a timing thing... but it s my first multiple fish outing since september.... was to the left of the boat ramp on the New Galena rd side of the lake.......... are there better locations for carp or cats at Galena?
