Fished on this (closed lake) on 4/11, started at 11:00 am and ended at 3:45. Threw crank baits with no luck, fished creek bed. moved to northeast side of lake in the afternoon, caught a nice 3lb largemouth on a 6" green lizard texasrigged, about 5-7 ft of water with deeper water close by. Saw other bass cruising the shoreline , couldn't get them interested.

Do you happen to know the reason that was closed? I live three minutes away from it, and I can't fish there. I have to drive 40 minutes + to Chester County.

as far as i can tell the water company decided to close access to SR as a result of a frivilous lawsuit brought against them by someone who fell while fish.... ruined it for a lot of peoplee like you and i that now have a lakeless Delaware County

I have talked the water company by phone and internet, they are sticking to the 9/11, security policy, funny thing though, no fences have been fixed or rebuilt and the boat that used to patrol the lake hasent been operational since then. Ive also heard the rumor of lawsuits, but cannot substanciate them. either way they have taken a valuable resource from us.

What really happend was.....There was a sign posted "no swimming", and a teenager was swimming in there, dove in hit the bottom broke his neck and died. His family is sueing even though the sign was posted "no swimming". So they got pissed and closed it.

Me, I think the lawsuits are just an excuse. Anyone remember how the access became severly restricted to just the area around the parking lot for a couple of years before it closed completely? Interesting how this coincided with the McMansions and developments going up around the lake, don't you think? I truly believe the developments pushed for the closure. I bet they didn't want fisherman wandering about in "their" backyards. Think about it!
