Here are the results from the tournament, I'm only posting the names of the first, second and third place teams and no weights, they only announced the winning weight but I was told it was wrong, so here are the top three teams. First - John (Jellybean) Kousisis & Lisa Fulton Second - Cris Grow & Barry Martin Third - Kenny Seese & Jeff Seese Lunker - John Kousisis & Lisa Fulton

I am not trying to bad mouth anyone but for as long as they have been running that tournament they should have a digital scale by now. I can't help but think that with weights that close that someone may have been screwed over or at least a clear cut 2nd and 3rd place rather then a tie. The vegetable scale that they use is not the best way to do things. I know a few years back I lost lunker by 1/2 an ounce. How can you possibly tell a 1/2 ounce on that thing??? I would love to see them purchase a digital scale (they could even get a used one) or maybe even get one donated by a sponsor.

jignpig, I have to agree, I watched them weigh a lot of the fish and from my vantage point which was right up front they missed a couple by at least an once, I know they were trying to weigh the fish and get them back in the lake as quickly as possible. It's a good tournament but the way they run it could be improved. I'm not trying to bash the Lions Club but I think they were a little unorganized, I agree they need a digital scale and also they need a score board to write all teams entered and the number of fish, total weight and lunker, that way all somebody has to do is check the board to see who has what. They might not even need to buy anything, maybe one of the local clubs would be willing to help them out. I would also like to see them change from the eight fish limit to a five fish limit, it usually brings more teams into the mix, better competition in my opinion. Like I said I'm not trying to bash them but I think these things would help them run a better and more efficient tournament.

I have to agree with MB and jigNpig -
There is no bashing going here, rather constructive criticism.
First - A digital scale would definitely clear up any disputes. It would be interesting to see who actually would have taken 2nd place with a digital scale. I can almost guarantee that those weights weren't exactly the same.
Second - We (all tourney fishers) really must take the best possible care of these fish while on the boat and during release. I've witnessed buckets of fish dumped into the water only to watch one or two get hit by boats while trying to recover. Since there is a designated weigh-in area, can there be a designated release area that has quicker access to deeper water, or at least away from the boaters?

I will also back you on the digital scale issue. That grocery store scale just doesn't cut it anymore there is too much human error that can come in to play! I know that the tournament is for a good cause, but the guys paying to be in the tournament deserve a more accurate weigh-in. I wonder how things would have played out if a digital scale was used.
Midnightbasser, If you check on the Chester County Bass Masters message board there was a discussion regarding the 8 fish limit within the last few weeks (a heated discussion at times). I chose to forgo this tournament due to the 8 fish limit and the rule that each team member could only account for 4 fish. For one that is a tough rule to follow since most of us are not accustom to that type of rule in team tournaments and secondly it is even harder to police. I am curious to find out if they mentioned this at all on Saturday morning prior to the start.
I hope they can take this constructive criticism and make a good tournament even better in the future!

Gman, I did see that post and I agree that it could be a problem especially during this time of year. Although I don't fish many tournaments these days and some of us do have live wells that can handle that many fish with proper care, including the use of catch & release additives to add to the water, along with ice to keep the water cool. I also understand that a lot of guys have smaller boats with small live wells so I do agree with you on the five fish limit in that respect. I still think a 5 fish limit makes for a more competitive tournament. Unfortunately the guy that posted and made it into a heated debate seemed more concerned about it being they're rules and that's that then he was about the well being of the fish. I don't know if any of the people running the tournament read this message board but if you do please be open minded about what is being said, we are not bashing you or your tournament, just pointing out ways to make for a better and more efficiently run tournament.
