I am thinking of heading to Chambers this weekend, I like to catch panfish, mainly sunfish and bluegill, are they biting at the lake yet or is the water still a bit cold. I heard some crappie are being caught on the lake but I am tore between chambers and marsh creek Jeff

went out 1:30 pm to 4:40pm Water temp 60.5 F My brother Matt got 5 sunfish 1 LM Bass I got 11 Sunfish 1 Yellow Perch and 2 LM Bass Bass were small but it was still a fun day. There was a fire somewhere and it could be seen over the lake. The upper area of the lake is closed off, (where the tree stumps are, I wonder why? Hopefully that will be open) Maybe because of bass spawning. The sign says Area Closed. But the rest of the lake is fine, just wonder what it is.

Yes that area is closed for the spawn. I guess just for boaters . Have seen people from shore fishing back there ,and don't believe there are any signs on the bank to stop them from fishing.

I dont think your really supposed to walk back there either. There are usually signs along the shore saying no tresspassing from ____ to ____. Its the bird sanctuary area. Good fishing this time of year though, go figure!

My understanding is that the north end of Chambers is closed this time of year for bird nesting.
