I'm coming back home after a few years to do some fishing at Chambers this weekend. I'm having a big ole brain fart on getting in from the intersection of 10 & 340.
If I recall correctly, I take 340 to Sandy Hill Rd and Turn Left? Bang a right at Kofroth or Martin's Corner Rd? This is where I get cornfused...lol
I'm sure it'll all look familiar and come back to me, but I'd like some backup incase the brain isn't functioning at 4am.
Thanks in advance!
PS- Has anyone wet a line here recently?

rt 340 to sandy hill- make left sandy hill to martins corner-make right martins corner to wagontown-make right
fishing has been about as bad as Marsh this year. i got one nice bass for the last 4 trips. I fish both a lot with lures and release everything. Marsh has been better overall for big bass this year. fished the last 3 fridays water has been murky. lakes getting hammered more, i believe because people are sick of marsh and need a change, buts its not cure lol

Stradic,
If you are coming off of route 30 and aproaching the intersection and the Turkey Hill is on your left you take a left there, Drive a little ways then make you right hand Turn on the road you mentioned(can;t remeber the name either) there is an antique store across the street from the road. Then just follow the signs to the lake. The road winds a bunch and you go over a little bridge but i think you only have to make one left turn after making the right on the road that i can;t remeber the name of. There is a sign showing you to make the left. there is also a house for sale on that corner. I know these are teribble directions but hopefully it helps a bit. I have been there a fews times over the last two months. I have caught a bunch of small bass. Most of them I caught carolina riging deep water off of points. Good luck.

I know you want to get out to fish, but I really wouldn't bother hitting Chambers. It really has fallen from the lake it was a few years back. I've been there about 6 times this year and each trip was a major dissapointment.

Thanks for the replies, guys! I grew up in P-burg and have been out of the area for a few years. I'm now in Ephrata and don't get down that way very often. I fished Chambers quite often before coming out here because it was close to home and an easy in and out for the evening.
Sandy Hill Rd is right by the Municipal building, correct? It's a shame to have spent 24 of 32 yrs in the area and can't remember how to get around there anymore...lol
As for the lake itself and the replies about the slow fishing... I've been hitting Marsh all season and I've been very disappointed there. I decided to start heading to Struble more often and that has been a bust compared to past years also, but we have some insight on that. How much more disappointing can Chambers be than the other two?
We have a dock at Chambers now, don't we? Thanks to the club that installed that if what I've heard is true!
I figure I'll put a healthy hit on the stumps and roadbed for starters then move toward the dam. Anybody catchin Crappie there? I used to have a blast fishing from shore to the left of the damn with the papermouths.

I don't come from that side of the lake. heres what I use for maps:http://local.live.com/ struble has not had good bass fishing since they killed the weeds many years ago. its not just poaching. marsh we know was harmed from too many tourneys. after-kill from stress in live-wells. although i had trouble believing this at first, there can be no other answer for such a quick decline. Chambers-as long as the fish comm. says 15" limit there will always be someone who takes them and as you know its a small lake. very easy for someone with minnows to take a few home and I believe thats what happened. now you see guys with minnows getting none over 15". my opinions

It's a shame that people have to ruin fisheries with so much potential.
Anyone have any suggestions on what to throw? It's been awhile since I've been there. I always did well near the dam with cranks at this time of year in the past, but I just can't turn down that road bed and stumps for starters.

Read my post under Ol Man River as to what is planned for Chambers. Our club is very concerned about this lake and with the installation of the porcupine cribs we are in hopes that it will be the start of bringing the lake back to a productive fishery. We can all participate in this process by following the rules of good sportsmanship and report all trash fishermen who disregard these rules. Past fish kills years ago were more than likely do to runoffs from chemicals by surrounding farms. This was true in the past at Marsh Creek. I have been told this problem has been solved do to close watch by the state. There is a healthy amount of young bass and given time to grow this lake will produce big fish. Till then keep the faith and for the sake of this lake practice catch and release and do this with utmost care.
