Stopped by Struble last Weds and in the parking lot were 5 trucks , three with trailers on back from the Pa Dept of Enviromental Protection. One boat that I could see with my binoculars, was out from the dam with 3 people on it. One guy has a long, looked like a PVC pipe, in his hand about 10-12 ft long. He was putting it down in the water as far as he could and then bringing it up into the boat. Another person with a clip board was writing something down after repeated dipping of the pole. Don't think the pole was deep enough to reach bottom there, so I assume he was taking water samples. The one other boat I could see was at the other end of the dam, but I couldn't see what they we up to. The other boat was docked along shore and they were walking the shore line with a clipboard writing things down. Went by the next day and they were not there again. Not sure what they were looking for or at.

its probably deep enough to hit bottom there, its graded up to the dam face, the deepest part is probably about 30Yds out from the damn where it gets down into 20+ feet

They could have been electrofishing. It's a way of measuring the fish population in a body of water. It shocks a certain area of water and the fish rise to the top. With certain calculations you can get an idea of the population density and the types of spp. in the lake. It has been done there before, back in 04. Here is a link to the PA fish and Boat website for struble lake. www.fish.state.pa.us/images/fisheries/afm/2004/6_04-15struble.htm
