sunday evening trip

hit the dam on sunday night.......caught 2 lm (14" & 1 dink) 6 crappies and 1 perch........all on crankbait........i am new to this lake having fished it 2 or 3 times this year........are there better days at this lake? if so when or where and what do i use.........i want to try catfish at night from the boat........any suggestions?
