Can anyone out there tell me if Struble has a lot of grass in it? Also, what are the shorelines like, are there laydowns or a lot of cover to throw too? Thanks for your help.

Sorry you didn't get a response Ram. I haven't fished Struble in a long time but it use to have some nice weed beds a long time age. I think the weeds have pretty much died off, there might be some scattered weed clumps here and there but I don't think it's much. I could be wrong so if anybody else has info about weather or not there are any weeds in the lake please give us a report. Thanks

Struble had weeds long ago and they were sprayed out. Since then the bass fishing declined. My opinion is that many people gave up on the lake and the bass population was given a break. I was there 3 times last year and each time the water quality was still poor. It was murky and you could barely see the stumps you get snagged on. I hear the water is better and I know several people who have hooked up with good bass there this year. Its a shallow lake, little weed growth, many stumps and now has fish cribs. Of the 3 trips, I hooked one large bass on a crankbait but it got off about a foot away from my thumb. Then later I had on another big one and grabbed the net, but this time it was a carp. For a good time troll around with a spinner/worm combination. You will catch a sample of everything in the lake. be prepared to get some snags too

Thanks for your replies and info guys. I obviously have never been to the lake and was just wondering what the bass fishing was like and what kind of lake it is. I'll have to give it a shot sometime and I'll look for some of the grass, stumps and fish cribs.

If you get to the lake there is little or no weeds and very little cover except for the stumps. Try fishing along the dam for bass, I have caught several nice bass there and the occasional catfish on accident. They like crankbaits and jigs just like the bass. Good luck
