I made it to Struble monday morning, to be met by a disturbing site, the spawning of carp, all along the edges of the entire lake. They did their thing like aquatic weed wackers, destroying the foliage everywhere. I only caught one bass and my buddy caught a crapie, clearly the carp were disturbing the usual holes I have had success with. The water temp was 64, carp begin their spawning process at just that temp and this can last for several days each female carp lays about 500,000 eggs is this the end of struble? I understand they can muck up a lake pretty bad eating all the foliage therefore destroying baitfish habitats and in turn the bass and other game fish suffer and decline. Any opinions? www.iisgcp.org/exoticsp/carp.htm Here is a link read the "Impacts" section.

I was there Saturday. Got 5 bass total weight of 13.8# and a 27"- 7# walleye. Probably my best big fish day of over 100 trips in the last 10 years. Carp were along the shore and in open water having orgies. Did not effect fish or fishin for me. The lake had at least two feet visibility in most areas which was the best vis I noticed in the past ten years. Also noticed several small patches of submerged aquatics. Good day of fishin may make the lake look better but id did look better to me.
