I got out to Chambers from 8-1 last weekend. It was the first time I've ever fished there, nice smaller lake. Water clarity was minimal maybe 1-2' at most, water temps started around 76 but were around 82 when I finally got on some fish. Only ended up catching one bass, somewhere 12-14" i would guess. Caught it on an underspin jig with a gulp minnow in about 11' of water. I ended up finding them on the submerged weed lines. Being that it was a Sunday the lake was packed by the time I left but it was nice to get out when it's not 95 degrees outside.
I did talk to another angler who said they caught a couple on a squarebill earlier that morning. I hadn't tried squarebills but was throwing some deep diving crankbaits with no luck.

What is a squarebilled? I fish this lake often and have never heard of this term? catfish? A squarebill crankbait. It's basically as it sounds - a crankbait with a square shaped bill on the front. the bill is usually shorter compared to a deep diving crankbait. I believe the square bill gives it a different action in the water and helps it deflect off cover like logs, rocks etc without getting snagged as much (hopefully).

No problem! Do you fish Chambers often? I had never been there before but I liked the lake. I was surprised at how many bank anglers there were, I'm guessing they were mostly folks who were camping.

Yes I used to fish the lake often but now with young kids I don't get out as often. I liked it because it wasn't as busy as other lakes in the county
