I heard there was a biologist coming out to do a fish survey here this fall like they do at struble lake from time to time. Has anyone else heard about it or know the results?

I was on the lake when they were placing the nets. They had 4 areas set up before I left. The reports can be found online at the fish commission website under biologists summary for this region. It takes a good while for the results to be posted.

There are prior years' reports on the PA fish and game site as well. The lake has a lot of crappie, carp and cat fish. not too many bass or walleye

It takes them a very long time to post results. I looked today and it's 3 surveys under chambers lake. They are from 2016,2002,&2001. Anyone got any pull to get the results posted faster?

I'd also like to see the results. A friend told me they trapped a bunch of big gills. That wouldn't surprise me but the size they told him was bigger than anything I've seen in 5 or six years of fishing there. I fish almost exclusively for pan fish. Also wish they would put walleyes in there instead of Struble which has less depth and cover.

I agree with you on the walleye suggestion. That depth and those rocks they might spawn successfully in there. I asked the game commission a few years back about putting some in there. The response I received back was due to the high population of bass and pickerel in there the walleye fingerling would basically be very expensive food for the bass and pickerel. I say we start a petition to stop stocking pickerel and start walleye. It's a shame there is no good walleye fishing close by

Kind of a bull sh## response in my opinion. There is a huge population of yellow perch and golden shiners not to mention silly numbers of young of the year fish: bass, blue gills, crappie, etc. BTW, they haven't stocked pickerel here in 19 years, though they have put in some Tiger Musky. That said I've caught a couple monsters (Pickerel)while fishing for pan fish. Walleyes this close to home would be too good to be true!

I fully agree with you. Question is how do we get the so called experts to listen to us and take our advice? There should be some way our fishing license and tax dollars give us a voice as to the fishing we would like in our backyard. I say the only fish with teeth to be stocked in chambers from now on should be walleye. No more pickerel tiger muskie etc

All these reports you speak of are available online in the fish & game website. and if you look hard enough you will find there are forums or other ways the state asks for fisherman input. I've put my input in there on a few bodies of water. The information is out there. And the state doesn't not stock musky in Chambers. Again there is info out there on state site indicating what fish is stocked where and when. You can even go back and look at history of stocking.

If you check the historical stocking (PFBC) you will see they stocked Chambers with Tiger Muskies at least 8 times; though the numbers were on the low side.

I can definitely say I have caught quite a few small pickerel and tiger muskie over the years while fishing for crappie in the past. Gonna have to check for fisherman input sites

I had a nice surprise today. I was in coatesville city hall taking care of some business when the new fishing game warden walked in. He was looking for someone but I made sure I grabbed his attention before he went to see the person he was looking for. We discussed quite a few things like crappie situation in chambers, snakeheads in Octorara and Marsh creek, hoping no one has put snakeheads in chambers, possible walleye stocking in chambers considering struble has gotten 60,000 fingerlings since 2000 and 15 people fishing for catfish at night up chambers recently. He seems very enthusiastic to be in this area and slowing down violations. So if we call about violations now we have a good chance of a actual warden showing up
