Scotts Run Lake
Trout to be stocked Oct 15, 2019. Possibly around 1 pm? Lots of surface weeds at the dam breast, ramp area , where the fish are put in.
Check the Pa. Fish Comm website for any changes.

Thanks for the info on the trout stocking! I'll have to give it a try this weekend.

The weeds are the worst i have seen.. Not just at the ramp, the whole lake. A boat is need to fish Scotts Run Lake now. Imo.

That lake is a weed carpet. Was out at end of August and you couldn't find an open spot to cast.

I think the lake being drawn down allowed the weeds to grow a little farther out than it normally does but since I fish from a kayak it's not much of an issue for me. Overall the weeds are probably better for the fish as long as it doesn't choke the whole lake.

The pickerel are in there, I've really only found them at far end of lake. Surely they are all over.

Oddly enough .... I tried fly fishing this lake for the first time yesterday in the early AM. I did not bring waders nor did I have a boat so I had issues casting passed all the funky weeds, etc. I was able to land a nice bass and a few bluegills tho but I really want to get a trout or a chain pick They didn't stock trout in the spring like they normally do since it was drawn down but there should be plenty in there after the stocking this week. The pickerel are definitely plentiful and not that I target them specifically but they seem to like moving/flashing baits more than finesse. Good luck!
