Given the amount of rain we received on Friday, I decided to abandon plans for a small stream fly fishing trip on Saturday. Instead, I met a friend on a north Jersey lake and cast & trolled for pike. We boated five and lost a couple more fish, including a nice chunky pickerel that probably went 20". Most hits came on #2 Len Thompson spoons, and a few hit a twister tail. The average size was about 24"...not monsters, but better than not catching fish at all. It was a good way to wrap up 2018.
