Had a kid free mid day so decided to go fishing in the rain. The water was up and a little off color but not terrible. I launch my kayak by the ranger station and worked my way back to the end of the cove along Park rd. I have only fished this area once but felt like with the high water they would sit on the edge of those reeds. Apparently I was completely wrong or they weren't feeding because I threw everything I could think of with not one hit until I got to the back and decided to throw a frog at the edge of some weeds that were above the water still. I had a huge hit which I was sure was a musky because it was a super aggressive splash but when I turned the fish it was a 5lb plus 22" largemouth(clearly caught before with a tear on the lip) Fished all the way back concentrating more on the frog and weeds with no more hits. Fished for about 3 1/2 hours but at least the one hit was a giant. Was told the water temp dropped 10 degrees over the last 2 days so the fish were probably a little shocked and not in a good eating mood.

Nice fish. If you can only catch one, that's the one you want.
