Got my dad to babysit so I could head out to Marsh Creek fishing for my birthday. Launched around 10am and went all the way to the back past the bridge and starting fishing a frog. After about an hour and no hits I decided my trusty frog was not the right lure and switched to a spinnerbait with the water a little off color. I hit the deeper side bank and missed one then landed a 1lber and a few casts later caught this 17" 3lb bass. I continued fishing the bank in the back lake and hooked into a 2 plus pounder but while I was fighting he came off, when I real the spinnerbait back the titanium shaft broke right in the middle (that's a first for me but the lure probably was 15 years old). Anyway after that I left the back cove and worked the bank on the right back towards the launch. The water was much clearer in the main lake and had no looks at the spinnerbait so went back to the frog as the sun emerged and dragon flies started showing up. I had at least 20 blowups(landing 12 or so) in the next hour or so most being in the 1 pound range but did get 3 in the 15-18" range. Love me some froggin. Decided to start heading back and put the spipperbait back on to fish as I peddled to the launch. About 5 casts later I hooked a hog and after a good fight landed this 23" 7lb ish bass. It's the biggest bass I've landed in 20 years. Certainly a heck of a birthday present. I would guess I had close to 18lb 5 fish limit of bass.

where did you launch from if you went all the way over to bridge area. that's a long paddle, I've done it once.

Great catch! Marsh is producing great this year. Awesome to hear about a frog bite this early in the year, must be some post spawners already!

I launched on a side street not the main launch. Don't remember the name of the street.

Nice catch. I was out last evening too. My thought is that it is definitely post spawn. Water temps were high. All beds I saw were empty. Fish were not active, but I did manage 2 bass, 2 perch, and a hungry bluegill. Bass were in 12-13” range.

The fish I caught were healthy fat but did not look pregnant fat so I agree they are post spawn. The water was off color in the back from the rain so I didn't see any beds.
