I have a 4 horse power transom mount trolling motor,24 volt. Does anyone know how many pounds of thrust this motor produces? I was told by one minnkota rep at the BassExpo show that it produced 55 lbs. I find that hard to believe. I am giving serious consideration to buying the "Navigation 165 lbs of thrust, 24 volt" or the new minnkota twin motor system 160 lbs, 24 volt. I forgot to mention that the 4 hp that I have is made by minnkota. I bought it several years ago at Gordons. Thanks for any help.

Bill, I was told that it was 15lbs of thrust for 1hp so I would say that 55lbs of thrust is probably close. Where are you going to mount it, some lakes are enforcing the gas motor up rule.

I am going to build a bracket (Like some of the Marsh Creek Club members have) that will attach to the engine mounting.

That's the way to go, it's a good set up.
