My father in-law lost his battle with agent orange side effects and stepped into eternity a couple of weeks ago.
I took him out in my boat last year for some late season bass fishing. He left his tackle box in the boat believing we would be getting out together in the spring, that never happened.
He left all his fishing gear to my son. My son and I have gone out in the boat about a half dozen times so far this year. We would look at the tackle box right where my father in law left it. We refused to open or touch it out of respect-uncomfortableness-who knows why.
Tonight we were out on marsh Creek and my son casts his favorite hula popper high into a tree and looses it. We both looked at each other both knowing where there was another one..... I say "go ahead pupup wanted you to use his stuff", my son delicately opens the box and ties the hula popper on. He takes 2 casts, cuts the lure off and puts it right back to where he got it from.
I think that tackle box will remain in my boat untouched for the remainder of the year.

great story...keep the tackle box on board - that way he's always with you...use the lures (and replace when lost/used up - that way he gets to catch another fish. best advantage in fishing is great karma : )
thanks for sharing..
