Took my kayak for a quick trip around a pond in Royersford on Friday evening throwing the big swimbaits. Got 2 nice largies on the Jackall Gantarel before the wind and bite died out. That makes 4 fish in 2 trips with the Gantarel. Nothing giant but I'm pretty impressed.

Is this a public pond? Always looking for new places. Thanks!

Yes it's open to the public although it does get tough fishing from the bank once the weeds grow in. My family told me it used to be a park with amusement rides on the pond, called Lakeview Park. Now it's a strip mall with the pond behind it.

The action of the Gantarel is amazing, I have one regular size and one Jr. and they are the two best looking baits I have. I haven't had much action on them yet but hopefully persistence will yield some big bass!

@dilk Yea the weeds are already growing in pretty well. masterbaiter For sure! Haven't tried the Jr. but i'm sure that one would pull in a good number of bass and the regular definitely has a bigger profile so normally bigger bass as well. Out of all my "big baits" the Gantarel has produced the most fish so far this year. Keep chucking it and you'll get one.

Saw this post and decided to take a ride past the pond today. Is it worth launching a kayak in? How big are the bass would you guess? I saw a lot of vegatation which usually means there's are probably some pigs. Also looking for any other local ponds where there are 3+ pound bass. Thanks guys

I think pretty much any of the larger ponds you can find on google maps in this area will hold 3+ pound bass. Just gotta put the time in to catch 'em. I've gone months without catching anything on my big swimmbaits but it's always worth the wait.

Yea it can be frustrating for sure! Usually the ones in or near a park are open. At least in my experience.

I've fished here once, threw around a jig and a whopper plopper for a little while this fall from the shore - no action. Noticed the water was really low at the time so I might have been on the wrong areas of the bank.
Gonna try it again at some point.
