well the bass SEEM to be done nesting and the water temps SEEM to have stabilized but the bass aren't sure yet. So what this means is good luck. I have been consistantly catching larger fish but with inconstant patterns. Some days spinnerbaits fished over deep structure, some days crankbaits around main lake, and a few on worms. no topwater bite. Seems like they are now spread out which is the summer pattern.

I would agree; the Bass that I have been catching in there have been larger than my usual catches from other lakes. For my first season actually fishing Blue Marsh by myself I am finding that its so-far-so-good; but I have never fished it in the heat of summer. I would hope that the good action I have been having there would continue into the summer but from all I have read it can get real tough there once the water heats up. So far I have boated a 5+, a 4+ and my Son and I both have a pair of 3+'s. I do not go there and catch double digits but I have come close on numerous occasions. I've fished a lot of the "hot-spots" per say and have done okay; but I have managed to find a few reliable spots off the beaten path (on my own, haha) that weren't shown to me. What I have learned on Blue Marsh so far this season is that I have little or no success on traditional baits; I have changed out my whole tackle selection this season which has also allowed me to excel on some of the other smaller lakes as well. For Blue Marsh I think outside the box and it's done well for me so far. But check back come mid-summer and we'll see if my bait selections still hold out? I target LM so I have only caught one SM there so far this season but I am 100% okay with that if the action continues. But maybe switching up to a drop shot in the summer may help with a few more smallies?

I've caught a few smallies in the summer on Blue Marsh fishing main lake points with chunk rock. They have all come on either a natural looking crankbait or a tube in green pumpkin or smoke purple. A drop shot is good there but I have only ever caught largemouth on it.
