I didn't really have enough time to get the boat out on Saturday so I decided to hit up a little pond instead. I went out armed with a swim jig (a bait/technique that is new to me this season) and actually had a decent trip. I caught 4 LM; all around 14-15". The water is still pretty cold in the pond (spring fed) so I wasn't necessarily thinking I would catch any, but after catching my largest on my 2nd cast I realized I had on the right bait for the situation. I was very surprised how hard they smacked that bait even in the cold water. It was a super fun time but I am ready to get the boat out now!

Spring fed ponds should be a few degree's warmer than non spring fed ponds, especially near the spring. The reverse is true during the dog days of summer the spring area will be cooler.

Gotcha icemole; good info. I was going to head out to blue marsh but I didn't have enough time; I had to be home by 1130 for other plans : (
