Took a ride by Hopewell this morning, there was a couple folks out fishing, they said the ice was about 4" with a slush layer and some more ice.Seemed plenty sturdy. we'll be out there tomorrow morning, not sure how the ice will be this afternoon after a day in the sun.........

Fished hopewell for a few hours this afternoon. The main lake out by the dam had about 2 inches of clear ice with 4 inches of white ice on top. Never fished here before so I just kinda poked around a few hundred yards from the dam in 14 feet. Found some fish but to say it was slow would be an understatement. Managed to catch 3 fish, a largemouth about 10 inches a nice perch and a big gill. That was it. No way this ice survives the next few days. By the time I left there was already an inch of water on top. I want to fish it again if it freezes back up. Seems like it could have potential for some nice fish
