Made a trip up to Francis E Walter yesterday with my kayak to fish somewhere different. Was going to take my boat but there is not much of a ramp up there... just the submerged road that goes into the water. Beautiful day, light winds and 75' water temp. Looking for panfish and smallies. Not even a bite the whole day. I had live bait and fished the bottom and under a bobber. Threw crank baits and jigs. Fished deep and shallow. Trolled the shoreline... nada. Love that place but never really figured it out other than the spring bite. Water depth at the tower was reading about 79 feet and out in the deep it averaged around 125'. Looked pretty low... the trees in the back were about half submerged. Seemed like most of the vegetation was above the water line. Any advise on where the panfish may be hiding up there?
