Interested in fishing Blue Marsh for stripers... Yet I know very little about them. Do they like structure or open water? Do they like shallow or deep... Or both? What is a good way to start? Any help appreciated

Striper fishing is VERY challenging, the roam open water following the thermocline and the baitfish. Because of this you will find them from the surface to 30 feet. Use of electronics to find the balls of baitfish (alewives, is critical. Caught them on deep diving crank baits, trolling weighted jerk baits,spinnerbaits... at night and mid day. usually main lake is best. Many guys use cast nets to catch the bait and slow troll around with them. I also have seen guys vertical jigging over them in open water.
