hey crappieman, by the one picture, it looks like you found fish in the area I suggested to you. not that I want any credit at all but to let you know that I also caught a big crappie in that general area trolling a bass plug recently. when you find a school of gills or crappie are they off the bottom? and if so how do you follow the school in all that open water? also, could you post your website? thank you ps that hump you describe is the old walleye/perch hotspot of 15-25 years ago. never got a good bass there

p196.ezboard.com/bpanfishanglersneighborhoodI hope this works. Gordon;s message board is one of the best boards on the net, cause of the fine anglers we have sharing info freely on the board. In no way would I ever want to hinder that, and Marsh Creek is one of my favorite panfish lakes. I will post a link to this message board on my message board cause there are posts on this board that should be read by anyone who fishes M.C. A big thank you to Gordon's for taking the time in having a great message board so we anglers can share our fishing trips. Now lets fish

I spent another afternoon fishing for bluegills and in 3 hrs I was able to take a limit out of 18 feet of water using red honey worms and super worms ( super worms look like a large meal worm ).these gills were super fat and mostly females, average length was 8.5 inches and a few 9 inchers. Now for you bass fishermen, whats this bass doing pesting me and taking my panfish bait, did he ever give me a good air show, this bass was hooked in the lip with a #8 light wire hook and after a quick picture I gently layed her in the water and watched her swim away to fight another day, I never net a bass and I always reach over the side of the boat and lightly lower lip the bass and lift it that way, no stress to the bass and no contact with any object so as to not remove any outer slime from the fish.

Nice picture! I too have had good luck lately with Gills from shore early in the morning or late in the evening.
The super worms sound like something to try. Where can I get a few dozen?

Hi Crappie man, my father and I are going out on Saturday. I mainly fish for bass but I do switch it up from time to time and fish for panfish. I did pretty well in June fishing for crappie using live minnows and a bobber. Mostly fishing sunken trees close to the bank to the right of the dam when looking at it head on. I have tried recently and have had no luck. I took my dad out on father’s day for the crappies and we did great so I was thinking of fishing for panfish this Saturday in the hopes for a lot of action. He doesn’t fish much so when we do go I like him to get some catching in. I have tried to find the hump that was mentioned earlier and I have had a little trouble. I have a pretty cheap fish finder and I have been unable to locate and quick drop offs out there. From the bass picture above it looks like you are dead smack in the middle of the lake between carpenters cove and the point on the right side of the lake facing the dam. Is this where the hump is located? Is this a spot I should try? Are you seeing schools of fish on your finder or just fishing the area blindly? Also I have only fished for the panfish hooking a small minnow through the lips and having a float maybe 4 feet above it. Are the baits you mentioned above live worms or those gulp biodegradable type things and where can I get some? When fishing deep like you mentioned how should I set up my rig and how should I fish it? Sorry for all the questions but that's how I got good at bass fishing. I would rather ask all I can and have a great day fishing then try to act like I know what I am doing and catch nada. Thanks in advance for any info.

I mail order for the super worms, but if you can stop at Gordons and get some meal worms, they do just fine.
Now for the guy taking his father, get some meal worms, some #8 lite wire hooks and some split shots, put split shot 1 foot above hook and let it go to the bottom, reel in till the hook is just off the bottom and wait, thats how I catch my fish.
As for the spot there are gill all over that 18 to 21 foot depth, and you are right on on the location, I have not caught any crappie there so I would not use minnows, meal worms or wax worms will do fine, always have a forceps with you cause those gills take it deep.
Right now most of the gills are deep, I do catch some crappie down at the dam on the right side, so far the summer crappies have eluded me, I want to try the night time crappie fishing very soon.
Also out in front of the marina follow the depth till you are in 13 feet of water, I have caught gills there also.
Let me know how you do, and good luck.
