Did anyone notice the thousands of seagulls swarming the top water of the schuylkill river? I went down by the bank and saw tons of dead or dying shads. Most of them were minnows. I think the fish and game commission stocks the river with shad. Does anyone know if the dying shad happens ever year?

What part of the river did you see the dead shad and seagulls?

I saw a whole bunch of seagulls swarming the river near the Phoenixville/Mont Clare bridge a couple weekends ago but I was just driving by so I didn't notice any dead or dying fish.

They were at least from Phoenixville to Pottstown. There were dead minnows everywhere. The birds where having a field day. The water was very rough so I fished in the canal and saw the same thing. I have no idea if this is normal. I usually don't got fishing this early in the year but now I'm addicted lol
