Took the boat out today with a buddy of mine...got there at 8 water temp was around 48 and alot of other boats out fishing too... fished the dam side in about 20 to 30ft all day.. caught a nice largemouth in 30ft on a blade bait then did well with crappies in 20 ft with twister tail jigs. Biggest surprise of the day was hooking in to something huge and fighting it for awhile until it showed it self to be a huge striper. That was the first fresh water striper I have ever caught and man those things pull hard. It measured 32" and was real fat but I dont have a scale to weigh it. I caught it on a twister tail jig with 8lb mono. We also saw another guy trolling catch one even bigger. We did see a couple other guys pull some bass out too so the bite is still on for now. Im not sure if ill make out one more time or not but it has been a great first year with my boat. Get out while you still can!

Just curious about a "real fat" striper. Was it a hybrid or a pure bred striper. Here's a couple fish, one's a striper, and one's a hybrid. The hybrid is the fat one, and you will that the horizontal stripes are broken on the hybrid, and not on the pure bred. Attachments:
