I hope you all have had a nice fall. I am sad because it is almost over and winter is almost here. I am not looking forward to more snow! I have been planning on going to Nockamixon for a while because there is a lot of grass and they go into it in the fall to feed up on shad. Today, I woke up at 7 am and hooked up the boat and headed out at about 7:45 am. I got there at about 9 am and got on the water at about 9:25 am. I started working a stretch of grass that was right next to the ramp and on my first cast I got a bit ripping a chatterbait out of the grass. I set the hook and fought the fish and got it in the net. It was a beautiful 4 lb largemouth that was 19 inches and had a nice belly! That is the first time I have caught a fish on my first cast. The fish were very spread out and I hooked into another one about an hour later. It was a nice 2 lb largemouth that was 14 3/4 inches! They both hit on a chartreuse and white chatterbait with a white and grey swimbait as a trailer. I went in at about 1 pm, but I only fished for about 3 hours because I spent a fair amount of time running up the lake to other grass lines. I haven't been out in over a month because I have been super busy so it was nice to get out and even nicer to catch some nice fish! When I pulled into the parking lot for the ramp, I was surprised to see how many trailers they were. There were 5 other boats out and that is surprising because it is November after all. The grass was definitely dying, but it was still most green. When I pulled up to the dock to load up the boat and head home, I unplugged the gas line and ran all the gas out of it because this is most likely the last time I will put the boat out this season. Later, I will spray it with fogging oil and put it away for the winter. Again, I hope you all have had a nice fall and I will be out on the ice this winter so maybe we will see each other sometime.
