...slow but still alive! water was in the mid 50's and still off color. I cannot find a smallmouth to save my life but did manage 5 largemouth bass including this nice fall heavyweight. Now what sounds better: Just under 5 pounds…or.. 4 pounds 14 ounces? Nice fish to wind down the season. Look at the scar on the smaller bass.. almost looks like he was hit by a prop. I had 3 that were around 2+ pounds and one dink plus the big momma. Nice calm day.

Nice to hear your still catching em'; this is a pic of the smallie I caught two weeks ago on a cold and windy day.

okokok rub it in… I was nailing smallies about 3 weeks ago, but I just can't find them lately. I am sure they are following the baitfish around but can't get them to bite.

Definitely go with the just under 5lb weight...kinda the opposite of the money rule when telling your wife how much you just spent on that new reel...always go with the lower number there.
Looks like the smaller guy was tagged by a heron, I've seen similar scars.
