Took my girlfriend and the dog out for a day of fishing at Beltzville on Sat. Water was way down maybe 5' to 10' feet... I heard they were releasing it to the Delaware? So low that the preachers camp launch was closed. Beautiful day on the water Water temp was 71 to 73 and visibility was 10' to 15' feet in some spots. Caught a bunch of big bluegills, perch, many small smallmouth, a few (small) LM, a couple 12" to 14" walleye. Highlight of the day was when my girlfriend landed a nice smallmouth on her 4lb ultra light. What a fight for her and her biggest SM to date. We were fishing in 20+ feet of water near the dam for the SM and walleye. The power lines for the LM and perch. Just used jigs and twister tails on out 4lb ultra lights. Too bad the water was down thought the power line area wasn't as good with all the grass above the water. Hard to complain about a great day! Low point of the day was the ramp traffic. Tried to pull out around 3:30. Had to wait in line for about an hour. What a mess... more people were coming even as we pulled out around 5:00 PM. I guess it was due to the other ramp being closed and such a nice day.

A few friends and I fished there Saturday as well. We put a few bucks in a pot and big fish wins it. Five boats, 9 guys, 8 hours, not a single bass caught. Funny how that works.

Too bad you guys didn't catch. Yeah believe me I have been on that end of it way too many times to count. Just like the marsh creek threads sometimes you have a good day sometimes not so good. I used to do a lot of overnight tuna fishing off on NJ at the canyons. There would maybe be twenty boats all around us catching all night and we wouldn't even get a bite go figure. Same bait same tackle. Did you guys have to sit in that line at the ramp?

Great catch! Sounds like a fun trip out, but that sucks about the ramp. I was thinking about going there this weekend and that might've changed my mind

Yeah, we sat at the ramp for a bit. It was a pain for me because I was fishing solo and had to wait for the dock to clear so I could tie off then wait in the vehicle line while my boat was taking up space at the dock.
I wouldn't go there unless it was during the week.
