Question for the pan fish anglers out there. I was wondering if there is a limit to how much crappie/ blue gill you should eat out of Marsh Creek Chambers or Struble. I brought home a few this weekend and fried them up with some beer batter and I am hooked. I just don't want to eat so many that i end up growing a third arm or something. Any advice. Hopefully these bodies of water are clean enough that it doesn't matter. Thanks in advance for the advice

My Father has been eating panfish from MC for over 20 years and he is now 88 and he is still healthy, so I also feel that MC fish quality is top notch.
I love that beer batter from Walmart.
Just make sure you keep your catch on ice or alive till cleaning time.
Do you fillet your panfish? we use and electric knife and can clean 50 in 1/1/2 hrs.

Cappieman,
Thanks for the info. I think I will go on your dad's diet and maybe i will be so lucky as to reach that age. They were so tasty as well as a lot of fun to catch. I fish every weekend normally both days (I have a very tolerant wife) and i like to change it up a bit and fish for different species. My brother is a chef and he recently taught me how to filet a fish. I will have to try one of the electic fillet knives because it took me a bit over an hour last night to fillet 15.

I had someone show me a way to do them on a BBQ years ago. You clean, scale, gut and behead a bunch of 'gills. Wrap them in foil with butter & lemon. Slow cook them for about 40 mins. When you unwrap them, gently hold them by the sides and pull the top fin & bones out. I never got good and always left bones in but he was really good at it. Anybody else ever try this?

Tunnels, years ago my mother used to make fish by just cleaning them your way, heads off, scalled, and gutted, fry whole, and than take a knife and lay the fish open and grab the back bone and 99 percent of all the bones came along.
BBq fish, that sounds good, along with a pan of home frys.
