I was out last evening in the main cove and the one across from the rangers office. decent action 5-6 bass in the 12-14" range and lost a keeper size that pulled out next to the boat with the help of some weeds. plenty of weeds now in various depths. I limited myself to using the 4" senko not really getting into any serious fishing. not many boats out. water still cool 64. Fishing can be tough at this lake but I remember fishing before the Big Bass Regs were placed and it was even tougher, for me at least. I believe that the perch population was at a peak around 1988 by my records and that the bass population overtook the perch in the years following the big bass regs. I know bass and perch frequent different areas for part or most of the year but its my opinion that they are related somehow on a larger biomass scale. any comments or opinions on that or the state of bass fishing at Marsh? anyone notice the lack of schools of fry you sometimes see at this time of year?

Bass Fishing has been solid for at least the last ten years that i have fished the lake. This year is a bit tough as far as early season fish but we have had some odd weather which may be taking its tool on the natural processes that trigger the fish. I have had limited luck so far this year but it seems to be getting better day by day.
