well, the south east trout opener is in the am,looks like im going to need the raincoat. heavy rain not supposed to hit till lunch, so I guess we have to make the most of the morning, good luck to all who go. if nothing else it might keep more of the preseason stocked fish around, and spread them out a little.looks like a nie stretch of weather next week tho. tight lines

Just for your info. If you are running a PC with Windows, go to programs, accessories, then paint. Click the upper left corner, then open, go to pictures, click open the one you want, then hit resize. I usually reduce by 50% as a start. When you save the photo, add a different name so your original stays the same.

Thats the most crowded opening day I've ever seen seen. I hit pickering, beaver, french and valley creek. French creek and beaver were unfishable due to the crowds. Usually I go down stream a little and catch a few but the holes were empty. Stockers got lazy or cold I guess. They will spread out in the coming weeks though. I would rather go to the dentist than stand around a hole next to a parking lot where guys are standing in the water elbow to elbow for no reason. I forgot how much I dislike opening day.

I don't fish Beaver Creek, but I read on PFBC website in the stream reports that only one person showed up to help stock Beaver for the preseason stocking. As a result most of the creek didn't get stocked. While I am saddened to hear about this and I feel the frustration of the PFBC for no help, if they would do the preseason stockings on Saturdays and Sundays they would have A LOT more help. What better way to get kids involved too? As it is now, most of us would have to take off work and pull kids out of school to help with stocking. I'd like to see a change to weekends for at least the preseason stockings, but maybe that's just me.

That would explain why the fish were all in the holes right at the parking area at beaver. I've enjoyed fishing there in the past.
Theres' 5 cars of fishermen at rapps dam rd covered bridge right now. It's 1:15 sunday and the water is over the banks. It's raging flood water and pouring rain. They really want to trout fish.

Back then maybe they had more hired help. Everything they do these days seems to be aimed at reducing expenditures. It may be that they started allowing the public to be privy to stocking dates and times in exchange for free stocking help?

I helped stock a few times last year,,not preseason,,every time they stocked they seemed to have plenty of help, but the preseason stocking should be on a weekend,,i think more than 1 person would show up,,,,,i hope,,,,i fished back then and I don't remember any hired help other than the fish warden and the trout truck driver. but I could be wrong I guess
