Sunday my partner lost a monster fish in water so scummy and green it was sickening. I stayed out all day (he left early) and boated 5 total... 3 were decent fish around 14-15". Today I had 2 lm both were around 2.5-3 pounds, all on wood. We need some steady cold weather to turn the fish on. All on either crankbaits or worms.

Blue Marsh ramps may be closed due to the govt shutdown. I'd check it out before making a trip.

OPEN: from the Eagle "The National Weather Service announced it is considered essential and will remain open during the government shutdown. Even though parks are not considered essential, Blue Marsh Lake is operating on funding from a prior year's budget and is open for the foreseeable future, said Steve Rochette, a spokesman for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers." I was there yesterday (wednesday) and it was open....

I thought it was only the national parks closed due to the shutdown. Like Sandy Hook in NJ and Hatteras beach in NC. Are there local/state parks or lakes closed due to it? I wonder if Valley creek in Valley Forge is open? Not that I have trip planned, just curious.
I am sure the ACoE is in charge of the dams at Chambers and Marsh Creek, but they open currently. Well, Chambers is being drained currently. Just wondering.

Blue Marsh is owned and run by the Army Corp = federal ... thats why there was concern. Many other rec areas are owned or run as State parks so their funding is at the state level...ie Marsh Creek
