Went to hopewell a little after sunrise. Not crowded at all. Fished rapalas and wacky rigged powerbait worms for a while with no takers. Ended up relaxing with a few rods out baited with minnows. Caught 2 small bass and a big sunny. Wanted to try last night but the storms made me abort.
It was a slow but nice morning until I was backing my trailer into the ramp and 2 guys in a raft pulled up onto the ramp. I was in reverse and my trailer was 10 feet away at most. I thought maybe they just didn't see me somehow but they proceeded to deflated their raft on the ramp. I had to laugh at the oblivious stupidity and lack of common sense. It's one the reasons I mostly night fish now. Although last night trip to struble someone parked their truck directing in front of the dock. Making it very hard to maneuver my trailer in. They just parked there and wandered off somewhere to fish. Last trip to schulykill both docks were covered with people, chairs, lanterns, coolers, ect. Like its their private fishing pier. They also were casting right next to my boat while i was waiting to use the ramp. They actually splashed me! They were cleary annoyed I was in their way. By in their way I mean trying to use the public ramp. They deserved to be screamed at but it's best not to anger drunk rednecks late at night. Anyone else have these constant problems?

some people just don't understand the rules. by law they're not allowed to fish from any boat ramp and yes i've had the same problems at hopewell, marsh creek, and chambers.

Marsh Creek is the worst. I remember one women was letting her kids build sand castles in the sand right next to the dock where kayaks and canoes launch, they pretty much took up the whole thing up. I've also gotten nasty looks from parents who let there kids fish on the dock at chambers when I try to land my kayak and they're casting right over my head... I wish people would have some common courtesy.
