Was driving by Sruble this evening so I decided to stop in. About 10 people wading / shore fishing , 6-7 boats in the water. Several guys wading, were ocasionally catching panfish, but one guy, with his young son, in their boat, were hammering the crappies. Saw him put over twenty in their bucket, but to his credit, he was returning the small ones. For about 1 hour they were catching one after another. They were fising in the shallows not far off shore. Looked to be using a jig, but was too far away from me to see what it was exactly. Also another fellow was totin home a decent size catfish. Best action i've seen on the lake this year. Oh and the carp are doing there love dance off shore all over the lake.

Was the water at normal level over there at Strubles or is that low also? I was at Chambers on Fridayand that looked to be down 3-4 ft. Caught plenty of sunnies and a few crappies no perck.

Alot of Struble is shallow water on the parking lot side of the lake. The water to the right of the lauching ramp is a large flat that is wadeable, and holds carp, especially in the spring and early summer. Catfish can be caught on much of the lake but shore fishing for cats is good in front of the parking lot and in the cove to the left (which is also wadeable). Water level is at normal pool level on the lake. Crappies are still biting in the evening, right before sundown, seems to be the best time right now. I was fishing last friday morning, but couldn't get the crappies to bite, but did catch over a dozen yellow perch and a few nice size gills.

I know the layout of Struble as I have fished for quite a few years and have always done well there
