this past weekend starting on Friday my uncle and i went down to the northeast in Maryland to go to the bass boat central Maryland rally. we went last year and had a ball. we got there on Friday ran to the Susquehanna because that's where we had success last year, we caught two bass one smallie That wasn't a keeper and a largemouth that was a keeper.
Then on rally day on Saturday we decided we would hit some rip rap on the northeast river before we went up into the Susquehanna, so we got there my uncle caught a catfish on trap, and i missed a good size bass on a crankbait. After that we went up to the Susquehanna, my uncle hooked up pretty quickly with a keeper smallie, put him on the box, went a long time with out a bite at all so we went across the river where we had never fished before we weren't there five minutes when i lost one on a trap, so i start thinking well, its gonna be a crank bait bite today. about two minutes later i hook another bass, and he ate it he was about a 2 pounder. Then after that i lost my lucky trap, so to try to prevent some more snags i switched to a spinnerbait, and that was where the day changed, i started knocking their lights out, it was crazy, every time i found a spot with wood and rocks or a seawall i would catch a bass. So at the end of the day i ended with with my personal best smallie which was close to five pounds, and my personal best largemouth which was 5.16. we ended the day with 17.31, funny part about that was i caught all five fish that we weighed my uncle caught that first keeper and he couldn't buy a bite for the rest of the day. even with our good weight i though well we might do really good this year, but everybody did good it took 20 pounds to win we got fourth place and a $200 gift card to the naught goose restaurant. Sorry for such a long post just wanted to share the amazing fishing i had the past couple days. here's some more pictures
