Has anyone seen if lake Hopewell or Scotts Run are ice free? I was hoping to get over there this weekend but had to take care of some chores. Got the spring fever bug.

I just got back from Hopewell as a matter of fact, thanks for asking. The lake is free of ice on the left hand side. The area to the right and the boat ramp area and that cove are still covered out to the fishing pier. Looks like it should be gone by the end of next week though.

Scotts Run is wide open and there is a bit of ice on Hopewell by the docks. My buddies had some trouble getting the jon boat out, but i had no probs with a kayak. I attauly fell in trying to get back in the boat in about 2.5 feet of water. It was chilly. We got one bite between the 4 of us on a small spoon at Hopewell. You are not allowed to fish Scotts yet due to the Trout stocking but we went to check it out and we saw a Largie about six pounds+ in the shallows!
