Wanted to get in one more trip to Struble this year. Got there about 1PM and the water was so thick and green we didn't even try. Must be an Algae Bloom.
Headed over to Chambers where the fishing was great. The water there was filled with the small ZooPlankton or whatever, but it was not any foul color.

That was my trailer in the parking lot, I was watching you through my binoculars. I figured you either left 'cause they pulled the dock, or the green ooze had you bummed. I also figured whoever it was probably packed up & went to Chambers. The dock issue is of little consequence to me, I launched there for 20 years without one. Actually, I'm glad they pulled it.
The mudhole has been unusually clear this summer due to the lack of rain. No run off, no bloom. It just started to bloom in the last week, and it did it in a big way. Looks like someone backed up a tanker truck full of Miracle Gro & let it loose. The wind was from the NW & had the bulk of the ooze stacked up by the ramp, the upper end was just slightly clearer. It'll dissapear once the water hits the low 50's, it was pretty much 57 all over yesterday.
I can tell you that the bloom has no effect on the fishing whatsoever. Like drawdowns and turnovers, it affects the fisherman much more than the fish. What it does do, is narrow the strike window, so if you're a bank beater, you're making three to four times the amount of casts that you would normally need to.
The only drawback is that you can't see the stumps, and if you don't have every one of them memorized, you can bend a shaft or worse.
